Gayathri Nagarajan
Hello All, Coming May we are going to do Rupin pass trek. Can anyone suggest where to stay in Rohru for a day.
Soudipan Maity
I suppose the pickup point for the Rupin Pass trek got changed to Rohru this year. Last year, it was Shimla when we did the trek. If Rohru is not very far from Shimla, you can look for a transport option from Shimla early morning since it will be easier to get accommodation there. Aniketh0905
Hi Soudipan, As we observed, it is a long journey from Shimla to Jiskun and the trekkers would not reach Jiskun before 7 pm . Taking ample amount of rest is Important to start a trek , therefore we changed the pickup location. It will take less time to reach Jiskun from Rohra compared to Shimla. There are direct buses from Delhi and Shimla to Rohra and the accommodations are decent and easy to get in Rohra. Hope to see you soon on the trek
jigisha
The pickup point for the trek is now Rohru bus stand, instead of Shimla. If someone was to come from Shimla on Day 1 itself, are there any modes of transport, along with the approximate costs that you could recommend? Doing the trek in June. Madhu
there is HRTC Volvo service #8 that can be booked (6:30 departure from Shimla and 9:30 arrival at Rohru) this should give you atleast an hour of buffer at Rohru for IHikes pick up vehicle https://online.hrtchp.com/oprs-web/avail/services.do

Madhu
this week talked to Rohru transport coordinator, except #8 Volvo service all other ordinary HRTC bus services are getting delayed in reaching Rohru. so they recommend to reach Rohru the day before your trek start day.
