Daniel
Hello, we are trekkers from Czech Republic and I myself work as guide on mountains in Europe. We are heading to Sikkim in May with all the gear needed for the trek, so ideally, we would do the trek independently. However, if I understand things correctly, not only do we need a local guide (which would be acceptable), but also as foreigners, we also need a package from the agency. Which is not something we really need (have all equipment and will it carry on our backs) and also would like to have the solitude and freedom connected with independent trekking as much as possible. Is it somehow possible to obtain the permit though the agency on the spot without actually buying the whole expensive package and joining other groups? Thanks for any help and stay safe, Daniel
Auro
Hi Daniel, I hope you are doing well! In order to trek in kanchanjanga national park (Sikkim) you will have to hire a local guide from there and he will be able to assist you with all the necessary requirements . you can not trek there without a guide. Hope to see you in the mountains soon
