Radha
Hi, I'm Radha, 43 yrs... I'm trying hard to prepare for the trek. I'm yet to achieve the target of 5 kms in 40 mins. I'm doubtful about it! Should I proceed with the trek or drop off? Please share your thoughts.
Ila
Hi Radha, i did my Beas kund trek at 58 years age recently and it was my first trek ever and my fitness level was poor. Really bad. if you don’t have medical issues and are in overall good health you can build your fitness What worked for me is to set my phone and watch app to measure my run timing and I did my first run. Just very very slow. My objective was to not stop even if I was jogging slower than a crawl. Before that I tried the run/ walk / run/walk routine but that didn’t help me. Jusr a terribly slow jog with rhythmic breathing (1-2-3-4/5-6-7-8) worked for me. Having a peppy playlist plugged into my ears to distract me from my discomfort helped me. Sipping water helped. Going early morning helped since I was fresh then. Think again before dropping off. if I could trek literally ANYONE can. ila

Hazel
Pranayams like 'Anulom Bilom' & 'Kapalbhati' helps in rhythmic breathing. These have personally helped me a lot.
